Most hardworking people these days are experiencing rate increases across the board. Insurance dollars for those that don’t know are shared across all risks. Think of a tip bucket. That’s insurance. We all pay into it and all claims come out of it. Most buckets deal with reinsurance. An insurance company buys some of the risk. Insurance for insurance companies and generally share some of the underwriting profits.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because it’s very time consuming to shop insurance and we as customers don’t know how healthy any given insurance company is, what their underwriting expertise is or if they are even able to write a policy for you based on your specific requirements of for some of us around the lake HOA requirements. We really need someone that can hit multiple markets simultaneously with our specific needs.
My recent experience with Deco, after years of being a self shopper and someone that has insurance experience from my career in healthcare, was eye opening. They were creative. Texas made underwriting difficult with some antiquated rules. My wife and I split time between here and work. So we’re talking two residents, cars titled in two states, boat insurance, etc.. You get the point. It’s not cookie cutter policies.
End result, Dakota Deters figured it out. We added a new policy with more insurance and maintained our existing coverage at a discounted price. Most importantly, I feel like because she took time to understand our concerns with potential claims disputes, we were underwritten appropriately.
Deco gets an A plus. They have my future business. Thanks to the whole staff.

This is an independent agency that can write policies for different insurance companies. I first used them a few years ago when increasing rates with my insurance company prompted me to obtain quotes from multiple sources. That's why I chose Deco since they are an independent company

The only reason I didn't award 5 stars is I wish they would be proactive when it's time for annual renewal letting me know my current company still offers the most competitive rate for my different policies. I am not sure that is being done automatically.
